Medical Escorts
The Shemer Medical Center provides doctor, nurse, and/or paramedic Medical Escorts, which accompany patients on commercial airline flights to or from Israel. This service is significantly more cost-effective than the expense of a private air ambulance, and can provide safe transfer solution for patient's with minor to serious medical conditions (depending on the airline's chief doctor's approval).
The service includes:
Assisting and expediting the visa process for the patient and his/her family members.
Bedside to bedside accompaniment of the patient.
Booking of the airline tickets for the patient, the medical escort or escorts, and any of the patient’s family members that will be accompanying him/her.
Coordinating the amount of space required to transport the patient.
Arranging the pre and post flight procedures - such as security screening.
Arranging priority boarding and seating for the patient and his/her family members.
Providing all of the necessary state-of-the-art equipment necessary to treat the patient throughout the flight.
Providing the best suited doctors, flights, nurses and/or paramedics to escort the patient.
Providing ongoing medical treatment, monitoring, and consultation throughout the entire flight.
Collecting baggage.
